In The Works
A while back, I posted a preliminary sketch of a 19th century statue I came across in Charleston SC. I recently begun working on a painting on canvas based on this sketch as seen here. This is an example of my underpainting process and will soon be working color into the image.
As I stated in my earlier post, I'm fond of statues
with elegantly sculpted drapery where the form
underneath the figure is still somewhat visible. I found this particular statue to be a beautiful example of this.
This is one of the final peices I'll be working on for the upcoming June exhibit at ACO. I'll have more specifics on the upcoming show soon!
