PSU Gallery Lecture and Reception

Thanks to everyone who made it to my gallery talk and reception on Thursday, January 19 at Pittsburg State University.  I was amazed it was a fantastic turn out with standing room only!  Special thanks to S. Portico Bowman (Gallery Director, Associate Professor), Rhona E. Shand (Chair, Associate Professor), Dr. Lin-Lin Tseng (Art History Assistant Professor), Alexandra Anger, Kenzi Jordan, and everyone else that this such a great and memorable event.         

My recent graphic novel DomestiCATed: Paths Once Crossed is now available in book form as well as ebook format.  It is available thru iTunes and is compatible with the iPhone and iPad and will soon be available on the Kindle Fire as well.

We are also planning on releasing What Follows Is True...Crescent: The Baker Years in both physical book and ebook formats.  The ebook version will make for a unique interactive experience in which the viewer will be able to access recorded interviews, maps, documents, videos, and other supplemental materials.  A great deal of these extras will be available on our website as well for those who prefer the physical copy of the book.

Crescent Presentation

Just like to send out a quick thanks to everyone that made it out to our Visual Presentation and Talk at the historic Crescent Hotel on Saturday evening.  We'd also like to thank Keith Scales for hosting this event.  It was a lot of fun and we really enjoyed the interesting discussions.  It was great seeing Keith's excerpt from his Norman Baker Midnight Theater Presentation and artist Rebecca J. Becker's presentation about her incredible series The Ghosts of the Crescent.     

Visual Presentation and Talk

This Saturday January 7 from 6:30 - 8:00 pm writer Kevin Brown and myself will be giving a visual presentation and talk about our upcoming 2012 graphic novel at the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, AR as part of ESP Weekend 2012 in Eureka Springs.  We'd like to thank the Keith Scales and the Crescent Hotel for having us out to participate in this event. Escape From Illustration Island

Just like to mention a website I've been visiting that I recommend to fellow artists, illustrators and graphic designers out there.  This site is basically a hub of illustration resources for a growing art/illustration community and features a weekly audio podcast with other professionals in the field. The site also features a section featuring critically acclaimed art and illustration eBooks, portfolio workshops, articles, and much more.  Anyway, if you are interested check them out at Escape From Illustration Island.
